Perugia in these two days will step back in the history focusing on1416, which celebrates the transition from the Middle Ages to the Renaissance.
The event, inspired by the battle of Sant’Egidio, will not be a single historical reconstruction, but a way to inform visitors of crafts and arts of that time, to recover cultural links and the dialogue between the city and its territory.
The project was born in collaboration with the University of Perugia, the Music Conservatorium, the’ Academy of Fine Arts and the State Archives, moves on three levels, the first, historical and scientific, the second museum and territorial, and a more spectacular one, evocative and informative.
An exciting program, with medieval competitions between the districts as the “Move to the Tower” that will take place in Piazza Matteotti, the “javelin throw” to the Cupa Park and finally the “Race of the Cloth”, played in the rectangle Via Fani , Piazza Matteotti, Piazza Italia, Corso Vannucci.
The result of each race will give a score recorded in a “medieval register” displayed in the old town at the end will be declared the winner ward who receive a Palio and a cash prize.
There will be evenings with fifteenth century-menu, prepared by participating restaurants where you can taste the food of that era .There will be medieval reminiscent parades.
